Godshill's Secret Garden

Welcome to the Model Village. This lovely treasure is in Godshill, Isle of Wight. It is a garden which has thousands of conifers and shrubs; it has four pubs, a couple of churches, a railway and airfield. Plus, right at the centre of the garden is a model of the model village! Fantastic!!!

I felt like a giant for a day, how cool is that?

August Bank Holiday

We were invited to a birthday barbeque party at the Isle of Wight. We decided to make a weekend out of it and went there earlier. Right up to the last minute we were still undecided as to where to go so we just went to where our nose and feet led us.

Our first stop was Ventnor where we laid our mat and enjoyed our sumptuous picnic. Stayed here most of the day to enjoy the sun and the view. The following are some of the pics of the view from where we were...

Photo Hunt - Dark

This photo was taken last night at the Cowes Festival, Cowes, Isle of Wight. We were waiting for the fireworks and was playing with my camera and took this photo and thought I could use this for this week's Photo hunt theme - Dark. (I'll be posting my fireworks photo after the weekend).

Happy Photo Hunting & have a great weekend everyone! =)

Photo Hunt - Pointed

I decided to go for a different take on the theme, Pointed.

The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse, Isle of Wight

The needles is the island's most famous landmark. It is a row of three very distinct stacks of chalk that rise out of the sea off the western extremity of the Isle of Wight here in England.

The sea around the Needles was notorious for shipwrecks. Thus the lighthouse which was built in 1785. The current lighthouse was built during the 1850's.
