Hatchet Pond, New Forest

The New Forest is a lively, working landscape. You need to get out there to truly appreciate its sights and smells. The Hatchet Pond is only one of the many places in New Forest that you could visit...

Hatchet Pond was created in the 18th Century to provide power for an iron mill. It is now the largest body of water in the New Forest which provides habitat for wildlife.

This is also a good place to head for to watch the sunset, to cycle, walk or simply enjoy a picnic.
